The mode it's pronounced in Irish gaelic is more than like "saa'win" but in Connacht dialect is more like "sown", I think the Anglicised pronunciation is more than similar "sow'in" and this sounds more than similar to the Scots Gaelic. I pronounce information technology Sow-inn
Sow (Every bit in a female hog) and inn (a roadside hotel). I say it regularly in my work and never been corrected so I guess it's right.
If you search for this online you can actually hear samhain being pronounced as an audio file, I tend to remember of samhain as sow-own only that is just me.

Gaelic spellings and pronunciations can be hard to learn and at that place's too a fair bit of variation depending on the dialect being used.
I hear "SAA'win" with the stress on the beginning syllable and the "aa" more or less equally in "father", whereas in the Connacht dialect "soun" is well-nigh like English "sound" without the terminal consonant. I've never, upwardly to now, heard of anyone saying "sam-hane", simply I believe that's how some do (erroneously) pronounce it.
